“Our driver was Julian who was punctual, nice and very accomadating. Our rappel guide was Andres so was awesome! He was very informative, fun to hangout with and funny! He made us feel comfortable and we had a lot of fun with him. The entire day activities was a pure adrenaline rush! I highly highly recommend doing while in San Gil!”

Canyoning Guatape River

2.Canyoning Guatape River

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 32 reviews · 5 hours (approx.) · from $160

Leave Guatapé for Samaria, hike about 40 minutes, then follow guides such as Manuel, Leo, Julian, or Renzo through river pools, rock slides, waterfall jumps, and rope descents. The five-hour outing includes helmets, harnesses, ropes, neoprene suits, and a light snack. Private transport is extra.

“This trip was all around amazing. The guides were fantastic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, funny, and a blast to hangout with. The trip can be challenging at some points but there is really nothing that beats jumping off a 14m waterfall and then having a home cooked meal. We would definitely do it again and highly recommend people try to get a tour with Julian and Renzo!”

Guide Andrés leads the descent with clear instructions and photos. Tree climbing is available for an extra charge.

“The drive should be pre booked with a taxi or driving service. I’m not sure if an uber would be the best case scenario. The location is beautiful and serene!!! They offer 2 activity’s. One is the tree climbing activity which was fun and a great warm up for the waterfall experience but be ware it’s an additional charge. The waterfall activity was my favvv. Andres was so nice and his instructions were clear and simple. He took great pictures and was very very nice. There is 3 parts to the waterfall and it’s easy. Just listen to Andre’s and take those small steps. Wear shoes with grip! My friend…”
