From Bogotá: Coffee Farm and Tequendama Falls Tour

1.Coffee Farm and Tequendama Falls Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 130 reviews · from $85Our pick

Leave Bogotá by shared hotel transfer for a guided coffee-farm visit near Fusagasugá and a photo stop at Tequendama Falls. Learn how coffee is grown, processed, dried, and roasted, then taste coffee liquor. English- and Spanish-speaking guides such as Steven, Pierre, Angel, and Juan have helped make the long drive informative and personal.

“Pierre was an excellent driver. I felt safe with him the whole time. I really enjoyed the winding country roads through the mountains. So much beautiful scenery. Tequendama Falls were stunning. Wish we had more time there to grab a bite with that amazing view, but we had to make our tour with the coffee plantation. The tour exceeded my expectations. The grounds were like a tropical paradise & Juan did a great job explaining the coffee process along with other interesting facts. The coffee & coffee liquor we sampled was delicious! All in all, a wonderful day.”

2.La Chorrera Waterfall Guided Hike

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 46 reviews · 8 hours · from $97

Travel from Bogotá to Choachí and hike through La Chorrera Park to Colombia’s tallest natural waterfall. A bilingual guide leads the day, with local path guides on weekends, bird and plant sightings, mountain views, and a local snack stop. The hike is moderately challenging, and water flow can vary by season.

“Camilo was a delightful guide and made our experience very special. We loved stopping to get a local snack (and coffee) on our way there. Camilo was knowledgeable about the area, history, and plant species (which I loved). Chorrera and the surrounding landscape was absolutely beautiful. The lunch at the end was incredibly delicious as well and we were very glad we decided to buy it. It included jugo de morra which was so tasty. I would highly recommend this trip and our guide Camilo.”

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 8 reviews · 6 hours · from $115

You’ll leave Bogotá by private vehicle with an English- or Spanish-speaking driver-guide, hike through Andean forest to El Chiflón and Colombia’s highest waterfall, La Chorrera, then stop at 3,300-meter Guadalupe Hill. The six-hour trip includes transport, entrance tickets, refreshments, and a souvenir, but not lunch.

“It was very nice to have a private driver and set my own schedule. The waterfalls themselves are spectacular. Must-see for a visit to Bogota, which is not exactly a naturalist's dream. The car and driver were clean and elegant. My only complaint is communication. It was hard to reach the driver by phone. I would have appreciated more information about what to expect. He was a driver, not a docent. You will have a great time, just ask a lot of questions... Don't expect to be told!”

Our guide, Emilio, was fantastic and super knowledgeable on the area and the environment. We learned so many fun things about plants and Colombia. Our driver Henry was also great and navigated the narrow winding roads with ease. 10/10 recommend this hike and Emilio and Henry!!”
