Medellín Coffee Farm Tour with Trolley and Cable Car Ride

1.Medellín Coffee Farm Tour with Trolley and Cable Car Ride

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 277 reviews · 4h 30m · from $56Our pick

This 4.5-hour tour takes you from San Antonio Station by electric tram and cable car into Barrio La Sierra. With an English or Spanish-speaking guide such as Carolina, Melisa, Valentina, or Arturo, you’ll meet a local coffee family, pick berries, see processing, and taste coffee made nearby.

“We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Christian was a great guide and a translator. This tour may be difficult for someone with limited leg mobility. There was a lot of walking which included hills. Fine by me! We learned a lot about the production of coffee (obviously) but also learned about the history and the community. Would recommend!”

“The worst experience we had in Colombia! A three hour drive to get to a coffee plantation ( ok scenery was good ) they said the tour would be bilingual, it was all in spanish, we were struggling to follow the tour… by the end of the tour we had to return ( thank God for our nice driver Ivan 🙏if it wasnt for him we would still be there) never saw Jardin and didnt have time for lunch! An absolute disaster… dont fall in this trap! Its absolutely impossible to make this trip in a day… we were never even informed the drive was 3 hours there and three…”

Over about four hours, an English-speaking instructor guides you through coffee production, brewing methods, grind, frothing, and fast barista technique. The experience may also include a sauna and massage, with a maximum of 10 participants.

“A really good day! Weather delayed our arrival on the cable cars, and they were very accommodating and stayed late to make sure we had the full experience. We did not realize this tour included the sauna and massage experience, which was a pleasant surprise. The farm is located deep in the park, and the journey to get there is longer than expected, but great views. The guides and attendants were very kind and friendly!”

“My brother and I really enjoyed the private tour. It is always our preference as the guides have more to share. Julio was awesome! He was very friendly, super knowledgeable, and spoke great English. Our day was not rushed. We were able to see and learn a lot. The coffee farm was unique and we appreciated that it was a family plantation and not a commercialized experience. The family at the farm was super gracious and coffee tasted great. I highly recommend this tour and if you get Julio, be ready for a good time.”
